The FTC v Microsoft hearing has brought us a ton of information from internal documents and emails that we would otherwise never get to see. In one of the emails that leaked to the public, Bethesda publishing boss Pete Hines messages Microsoft Gaming boss Phil Spencer, Xbox Game Studios head Matt Booty and other Xbox executives regarding the planned announcement of Machine Games' Indiana Jones game.
The email contains a couple of very interesting pieces of information about the game, suggesting that this is a massive project for Bethesda and Xbox. In one part of the email, Hines reveals that Indiana Jones is a game that Todd Howard wanted to make for over a decade and that he is "the biggest Indiana Jones fan on the planet."
Hines writes that anyone who has seen the pitch for the Indiana Jones game has been blown away and wanted to play it as soon as possible. Indiana Jones will be quite amazing judging by Hines' words.
"I'm not exaggerating even a little. Anyone who has seen the pitch has immediately said 'Oh my god, I have to play that game right now'," Hines wrote in the email. "It's going to be amazing and we think the reaction to the announcement is going to be terrific."
We are certainly happy to see the enthusiasm that Hines is showing for Indiana Jones but it's safe to say that fans would prefer to see the game in action as we know nothing about this project other than it's a mash-up of genres and Todd Howard is on the helm.
Recently, it's been revealed that Indiana Jones was supposed to launch on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S but Microsoft cancelled the PlayStation 5 version when they acquired Bethesda's parent company Zenimax.
Indiana Jones does not have a release date so don't expect it anytime soon.
