MachineGames' upcoming Indiana Jones game is officially titled The Great Circle, it's been confirmed today by the developers during the Xbox Developer Direct.
The game is targeting a release window of 2024 at the momment, which is sooner than we expected. It will be available on PC and Xbox Series X|S. It's also coming day one to Xbox Game Pass.
One of the biggest talking points surrounding Indiana Jones: The Great Circle is the player perspective and MachineGames today gave us an answer to that question. Indiana Jones is first and foremost a first-person game but it will have some third-person perspective sequences during cutscenes and platforming.
"Our game is about putting you in the shoes of an iconic hero," says Design Director Jens Andersson. "Since we are doing this mostly in first-person, you have the chance to truly become Indy. First-person makes you part of this world – allowing you to explore and experience things more intimately."
The voice of Indiana Jones will be well-known video game voice actor Troy Baker but the model of Indy is based on Harrison Ford. The story is set between Raiders of the Lost Ark and the Last Crusade and follows Indiana Jones all over the world as he tries to solve an ancient mystery.
Some of the locations that we've seen in the trailer include Egypt, the Himalayas and more. You can check out the deep dive below for the first look at these locations.
MachineGames and Bethesda will reveal more details about Indiana Jones and the Great Circle as we get closer to the release date. Expect to see new gameplay and other details at Xbox Showcase in June.
