The Blood of Dawnwalker
The Blood of Dawnwalker is a single-player open-world dark fantasy action RPG developed by Rebel Wolves and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment, scheduled to launch on 3 September 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
Built on Unreal Engine 5, it is the debut game from Rebel Wolves and the first chapter in what the studio describes as a brand new dark fantasy saga. The game was first announced in January 2025 and has surpassed one million wishlists across all platforms ahead of launch. The standard edition is priced at $69.99 and Xbox Play Anywhere support is confirmed, allowing players who buy on Xbox to also play on PC at no additional cost.
Set in 14th-century Southeast Europe during a period of war, plague, and political collapse, the game follows Coen, a young man turned into a Dawnwalker - a being caught between humanity and vampirism. He is human by day and vampire by night, and has 30 in-game days to save his family from Brencis, a powerful vampire lord who rules the Carpathian Mountain region of Vale Sangora.
The day-and-night split shapes every aspect of play, with different abilities, routes, and interactions available depending on which form Coen is using. Combat blends swordplay with directional blocking, building up charges that can be spent on Hex magic or devastating execution moves. Player choices carry lasting consequences, shaping the balance of power across the valley, faction relationships, and the story's outcome. The game offers up to 70 hours of playtime depending on player decisions, and features motion capture work from former UFC champion Jan Błachowicz, who performed as one of the game's vampiric antagonists.
