The upcoming Indiana Jones game from Bethesda studio MachineGames could be officially titled Indiana Jones and The Great Circle, according to video game researcher Kurakasis, who spotted the registered domain name on January 9, 2024.
Lucasfilm Games registered three domains with this title including "indianajonesthegreatcirclegame" which pretty much confirms that this is indeed a video game, and potentially the one made by MachineGames.
We are not aware that any other Indiana Jones games in development at the moment so it's clear that this domain is indeed for the upcoming Xbox-exclusive title. Kurakasis also spotted other trademarks for The Great Circle a while back which include goods and services for video games. But as always with unconfirmed reports, take it with a grain of salt until we get the announcement from Bethesda.
We will get the official confirmation of the Indiana Jones game name at the upcoming Xbox Developer Direct, which is confirmed to include this highly-anticipated action adventure and other Xbox titles like Avowed and Hellblade 2.
At the moment, we know very little of Indiana Jones since Bethesda and MachineGames didn't really talk about it at all. Todd Howard previously stated that the game would be a genre mash-up and a mix of many things and the leaked FTC files confirmed that Indiana Jones is coming only to PC and Xbox Series X|S.
Rumours suggested that the game would be a mix of first and third-person gameplay but none of that is confirmed yet. Luckily we won't be waiting for too long as the Developer Direct is just around the corner.
Indiana Jones does not have a release date at the moment but recent rumblings reveal that the game could launch sometime in 2024, which is certainly exciting as we didn't expect this one for a couple of more years.
