IO Interactive has announced an update to 007 First Light that introduces new NVIDIA technologies path tracing and DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction support to the PC game.
Path tracing and DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction joins a growing list of NVIDIA tech implemented in 007 First Light that already features DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution and Dynamic Multi Frame Generation. Both additions will work to increase fidelity for lighting, shadows, and reflections.
IO Interactive says that with the latest update applied 007 First Light is fully path traced on qualifying GeForce RTX desktops and laptops. This allows for more “immersive environments and explosive set pieces” through increased details found throughout the cinematic game.
007 First Light Now Features Full Path Tracing
Path tracing will feature improved lighting across the board in-game, with IO Interactive stating it impacts lighting, shadows, and reflections. DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction will also be added to help boost image quality while rendering with path tracing.
This is just the latest update in IO Interactive’s relationship with NVIDIA, first announced on January 20 26 with the reveal of the games PC requirements. Ray Tracing players have been able to take advantage of DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution and Dynamic Multi Frame Generation since launch.
IO Interactive had previously also implemented upgrades to its Glacier engine for 007 First Light. According to the studio, these changes were made with “its cinematic storytelling, dynamic action sequences and blockbuster scale set pieces in mind.”
Those upgrades also touch on character performances and improved environmental details. 007 First Light puts players in the shoes of James Bond during his younger years as he comes across as more reckless MI6 agent.
