Collectibles play a very important part of the gameplay loop in Where Winds Meet. For all completionists among us, in this guide, we will show you how to track down everything you collected inside a particular region.

There are players who only care about story. Others appreciate good gameplay, and that's because we are all different and like different things, in games and in life in general. Where Winds Meet is a rare game that has something for each of us, because its huge world, so many mechanics, and generally enormous ambition leave no one wanting; if you look hard enough, you'll most definitely find something you like in this game.

For completionalists among us, this MMO RPG from NetEase Games is a real treasure hunting ground. You'll have so many things to collect and do that you'll probably get lost in all the game has to offer.

Once you open the in-game map, you'll see many locations with the completion percentage shown on them, but to see what you've already done and what you're missing inside that certain region can be a bit complicated. If you want to know how to achieve this, we have a guide that explains just that.

Types of collectibles

Every activity in Where Winds Meet counts as a collectible, and all those activities are shown on the map; however, we're not talking about the big in-game map, which can be opened at any time, but rather a small minimap shown on the upper left side of the screen.

Not every region will have the same collectibles, but all of them will be shown inside the dedicated menu for you to track down. Here are some of the collectibles you'll be collecting in Where Winds Meet:

  • Boundary Stones (shown on the map)
  • Encounters
  • Antiques
  • Main and side quests
  • Meow Meow treasures
  • Cat Play (petting cats)
  • Chests
  • Oddities
  • Camps
  • Minigames (Chess, Mahjong, Pitch Pot, Fishing...)
  • Old Friends

Only Boundary Stones, main and side missions, and Camps will be shown on the main map; everything else must be tracked down by covering the ground on foot. However, everything you must collect will be shown on the minimap once you get close enough to it, so in order to pick the map clean, all you have to do is cover every corner of the map and interact with everything shown on the minimap.

How to check out the collectibles inside regions

There are two major regions in Where Winds Meet: Qinghe and Kaifeng, and each of those regions is divided into several subregions or smaller areas. Once you open the in-game map, next to the name of each area, you'll see the progression percentage.

To check out what you've collected already and what needs to be collected to finish the region 100 per cent, open the main map, navigate and hover the mouse over the region's name shown on the bottom left corner of the map, and click on it. If you're playing the game with the controller, press the touchpad (PlayStation controller) and navigate to the same place (see image below).

This will lead you to the game's exploration menu or directly inside the Sentient Beings menu. Here, you'll be able to see the collectible percentage of each region you've visited so far. Keep in mind, however, that regions you didn't set foot inside won't be shown here.

You can open this menu by opening the journal and navigating to Sentient Beings from there; however, going through the map will highlight the region you're currently in, making it easier to pinpoint your current location.

Tips for easily locating collectibles

As we said earlier, almost every collectible is shown on the minimap once you get inside the area where the collectibles are located; however, some collectibles, like chests for example, won't be shown on the minimap, but instead, once you get close to them, you'll see their silhouettes on screen.

To easily recognise those inside the world, your best friend is the Wind Senses ability. This ability is unlocked through talents (see our guides about talents here). Once you engage this ability, you'll see every collectible highlighted on your screen, so if you're hunting collectibles in a certain region, Wind Senses is the best help, without doubt.
