Where Winds Meet Hidden Mountain: New Gear Sets
Hidden Mountain
Hidden Mountain

Hidden Mountain launches on July 23 alongside the long-awaited Gauntlets weapon, and it brings two new gear sets built to complement the new Bamboocut - Kite Martial Arts path. Here's what they do and where they fit.

The two new gear sets, Etherwrath (weapon set) and Exalted Righteousness (armour set), both revolve around the same core mechanic - the Perfect Dodge. Etherwrath converts a well-timed dodge into a burst of offensive stacking, while Exalted Righteousness creates a window of guaranteed damage reduction.

That shared trigger makes them a natural pairing for the mobile, counter-heavy playstyle the Bamboocut - Kite path is built around, though how good either feels will depend on your playstyle.

Etherwrath - The New Weapon Set

Etherwrath rewards an aggressive, high-uptime playstyle. Rather than slowly building momentum over a fight, players can jump straight to maximum stacks with a well-timed Perfect Dodge before launching into a burst window, making precise defensive timing just as important as offensive pressure.

Its strongest home is naturally the Heavenwill Gauntlets, whose Martial Trigger Effects can make full use of the extra Attribute Attack Penetration. That said, the set is equally valuable on other Martial Arts paths with compatible triggers, making Etherwrath a strong pick for sustained damage. Other compatible weapons and their Martial Trigger Effects include the Mortal Rope Dart's Rodents, Everspring Umbrella's Resonance, and Phalanxbane Blade's Anxi Army Assist.

Exalted Righteousness - The New Armour Set

Exalted Righteousness rewards players who consistently land Perfect Dodges, offering a reliable defensive window against both bosses and other players.

Note: You'll see this set referred to as both Exalted Righteousness and Honorbound in different parts of the game's UI, which is a localisation inconsistency rather than two separate sets.

2 Piece Bonus: Physical Defense +1

4 Piece Effect: Triggering a Perfect Dodge grants Honorbound for 5 seconds - reducing HP damage taken by 10%, and further reducing Critical DMG and Affinity DMG taken by 12%. Honorbound can only be gained once every 10 seconds.

It has particularly strong synergy with the Heavenwill Gauntlets, whose mobile, counter-focused playstyle naturally encourages frequent Perfect Dodges. Pairing it with the Evasive Charge Inner Way, the new Celestial Vigor Inner Way, and Ghostly Steps Mystic Skill reinforces that evasive approach further, letting players stay aggressive while still benefiting from the set's defensive buffs.

How the New Sets Stack Up Against the Existing Roster

Neither of the two gear sets invent a mechanic from scratch - both refine ideas already present in the game's roster, tuned for the new weapons' faster, more evasive pace.

Weapon Sets

Etherwrath's closest cousin is Hawkwing - both are stacking, short-duration Attack buffs capped at 5 stacks. The difference is Hawkwing needs Affinity procs to build, while Etherwrath can be instantly maxed with one well-timed Perfect Dodge, making it far more burst-friendly and less reliant on Affinity triggers. Etherwrath is built for near-constant stacking that punishes fights where you can keep landing hits and dodges back to back.

Mistwillow
Precision Rate +0.1%
Landing a Heavy Attack/Heavy Attack Pursuit Skill grants +10% Physical/Silkbind DMG to Light Attacks and Projectile Skills for 15s, and vice versa. With both bonuses active simultaneously, they upgrade to Veil of the Willow, boosting both attack types at once. Refreshable, but only once every 2s.

Stacks to 5; 1 stack is lost per hit taken; up to 2 stacks can be gained per second.
Swift Gale
Max Physical Attack +1

Swaying Heights
Min Physical Attack +1
+5% damage against targets above 50% HP; every further 5% HP adds +1% more, up to +10% total.

Armour Sets

Exalted Righteousness' closest match is Calmwaters - both key off a Perfect Dodge. But it isn't a straight upgrade over Calmwaters: Calmwaters has no stated cooldown, so its 50% chance can fire off nearly every dodge, while Exalted Righteousness guarantees its effect but gates it behind its own 10-second cooldown on Honorbound. Calmwaters trades certainty for frequency - small, RNG-dependent sustain on most dodges; Exalted Righteousness trades frequency for certainty - a flat damage-reduction window, but only once every 10 seconds no matter how often you dodge. Which is better depends on how often you're landing Perfect Dodges relative to that cooldown, and whether you need sustain (Calmwaters) or hit-mitigation (Exalted Righteousness) more in a given fight.

Set2pc Bonus4pc Effect
Exalted Righteousness (new)
Physical Defense +1
A Perfect Dodge grants Honorbound for 5s: -10% HP damage taken, -12% Critical/Affinity DMG taken. Can only trigger once every 10 seconds.

Calmwaters

A Perfect Dodge has a 50% chance to restore 10 Endurance and 1% HP, with an additional 2% HP restored when your HP is below 50% and below 20% (up to a maximum of 5% HP).

Agile Steps

Flawless Defense
Physical Defense +1
Reduces damage taken by 5% baseline. Below 60% HP, gain a further -1% per 10% HP lost, stacking up to 5 times.

Bottom Line

Etherwrath reads as a faster, dodge-triggered evolution of the Hawkwing-style stacking Attack buff, built for near-constant offensive uptime. Exalted Righteousness is a different kind of trade: it swaps Calmwaters' uncapped, chance-based sustain for a guaranteed mitigation window, but its own 10-second cooldown on Honorbound means it can't fire on every dodge either, so it's best read as an alternative to Calmwaters.
