How to Start the Hexi Expansion in Where Winds Meet

Travel to Bamboo Abode in Qinghe and head toward the shoreline. Near the marked location, you will find a bag lying on the shore. Interact with it to begin the Hexi expansion questline.

After collecting the bag, you'll be directed to a second location in Bamboo Abode. Here, you must find and interact with a wall painting.

Complete the short sequence of guided interactions, and a cutscene will trigger. When it ends, you’ll find yourself inside an old cabin.

The cabin section continues in the same vein - guided, unhurried, and more about atmosphere than challenge. The whole sequence is designed to ease you into the expansion and set the stage before the big cinematic moment.

Continue interacting with the environment as prompted: explore the painting inside the cabin to trigger a short cutscene, then head outside where another cutscene plays, followed by on-screen prompts to board a boat - the same vessel players may recognise from the recent Voyage of Lanterns live event.

Once aboard, a sweeping cinematic unfolds. After it concludes, you will officially arrive in Jade Gate Pass, the first region of the Hexi expansion. From here, you can begin exploring the new map, take on the upcoming Hexi bosses, and continue the expansion’s new storyline.
