Dune: Awakening, the newest survival game from Funcom, is a game with very sophisticated mechanics where you'll have to keep an eye on many things if you want to survive the harsh environments of Arrakis.
Apart from the survival mechanics, the game features a very detailed open world full of locations to explore, and since the terrain is mostly deserts and rocks, you're going to have to make a lot of climbing and descending to reach every nook and cranny this game has to offer.
Climbing the rocks is a very straightforward activity - you can climb on almost everything as long as you have stamina - but going down might seem like a problem because if you fall from too great a height, you'll probably end up dead. In this guide, we will show you how to avoid such a fate.
How to avoid fall damage in Dune: Awakening
To avoid taking fall damage in Dune: Awakening, you're going to have to equip a certain belt on your character. This belt is called a passive suspensor belt, and it can be equipped next to the slot of your chest armour piece. To do that, open the inventory and click on this empty field. Chances are, you already have this belt because it can be found all over the initial area of the game inside many loot chests.
If you, by any chance, don't have the Passive Suspension Belt, you can research it and then fabricate it. Keep in mind, however, that this belt belongs to the copper parts and will be unlocked a bit later during the tutorial.
After equipping this belt, feel free to jump from anywhere, as long as you have enough energy, because, to maintain its functionality, the Passive Suspensor Belt requires 14 power. You can add power to your utilities by equipping a power pack. The first power pack is a part of the first set of salvage products and can be crafted even without a fabricator.
Craft or equip an existing power pack, and you're ready to jump from any height, as long as those two essentials are equipped in your inventory. As long as you have them, you're safe from fall damage.
