In Dune: Awakening, the latest survival game from Funcom, fast-travel mechanics don't work as in other games, or to be more precise, fast-travelling is not as useful as you might have expected it to be.
Every game featuring a big open world must include at least one method of fast travel, as walking huge distances is not an option. This is mostly because it is tedious and partially because it is very dangerous, especially in survival games like Dune: Awakening.
Dune: Awakening has a fast travel option, even though it is as weak as sparkling water, but it is here nonetheless, and if you're curious to find out how to fast travel in this game, we have a guide for you.
How to fast travel in Dune: Awakening
To unlock the fast travel option in Dune: Awakening, you'll first have to find one of the trading posts, because in this game, trading posts are the only places from which you can fast travel, meaning the more trading posts you unlock, the more fast travel spots you have.
The first trading post is found during the tutorial phase of the game. If you keep following the tasks given to you during this phase of the game, you'll eventually reach Griffin's Reach Tradepost. Once inside this post, look for a girl with an ornithopter icon above her head; she is a pilot, and if you speak to her, she will offer you her flying services.
You'll have three locations to choose from, and they are Hagga Basin, Arrakeen, and Harko Village. Each one of those locations has different trading posts to choose from; again, the more you discover, the more will be available to you.
Keep in mind, however, that fast travelling isn't cheap, and you'll have to pay a pretty big sum of money to fast travel to some remote locations. Later in the game, fast travelling will become completely useless once you acquire your own ornithopter. With this beast in your possession, you'll be able to fly whenever you want on the map on very short notice.
