Silicone blocks are a mid-game crafting material required for crafting some semi-advanced items. In this guide, we will show you how to get them easily.

Crafting is a large part of Dune: Awakening, and as the game progresses, more and more complicated items will require more advanced and rare materials. Once you reach the second area of this latest Funcom's survivor, Vermillius Gap, the Dew Reaper tool will be a must-have, but one very complicated item to get will stand in your way, and it is a silicone block, or four of them, to be more precise.

Obtaining silicone blocks can be a real nightmare if you don't know where to look or if you want to do everything by the book, that is. However, there are some easier ways to obtain it.

If obtaining this mysterious material has become your obsession as well, in this guide, we will show you how to get it in both a regular and a bit shorter and easier way, so without further ado, let's get to it.

How to get silicone blocks in Dune: Awakening

Silicon blocks can be produced in a chemical refinery. If you don't have one, research it and build it inside your base using a construction tool and 45 copper ingots. To produce a silicon block, you'll need 50 water and five flour sands. Water can be obtained in several ways, and if you don't know how, follow our guide.

A bit bigger problem poses finding flour sand. This material is located inside an open desert, and it is always dangerous to roam over there because it is the habitat of the most dangerous creature in Dune: Awakening, the sandworm. But, if you're brave enough, go to the desert and look for white patches where you can place yet another device to extract this precious material, the static compactor. The biggest issue is that this compactor is obtained after the second Trial of Aql, which means not as soon as you arrive to Vermillius Gap.

However, as we said before, it doesn't mean you cannot obtain this material earlier. To do that, visit local enemy camps and caves and all other settlements located all over Vermillius Gap. Inside those locations, you'll find a lot of chests, and almost all of them will contain the flour sand.

If you want, you can always revisit easier locations after some time passes, because in this game, the enemies and the resources respawn very quickly. Keep in mind, though, that the enemies in this region are way tougher, and you'll need to strategise a bit to overcome them, but they're nothing really special; only make sure to set the respawn point inside your base to avoid complications if you happen to fall during those combat encounters.
