Elden Ring Shadow of The Erdtree is just around the corner and today developer From Software decided to share the official PC specs for this highly anticipated expansion. The PC specs are identical to the PC specs of the base game which tells us that the expansion probably won't have any additional new features for PC gamers like more ray-tracing options or improved overall visuals.
Under the recommended specs, From Software listed Nvidia GTX 1070 with 8GB of VRAM, which is an eight-year-old graphics card. For the CPU, you'll need either AMD Ryzen 3 3300X or Intel Core i5-8400.
Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree PC Specs
MINIMUM
- OS: Windows 10
- Processor: Intel Core i5-8400 / AMD Ryzen 3 3300X
- Memory: 12 GB RAM
- Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 3 GB / AMD Radeon RX 580 4 GB / Intel ARC A380 6 GB
- DirectX: Version 12
- Storage: 80 GB
RECOMMENDED
- OS: Windows 11/10
- Processor: Intel Core i7-8700K / AMD Ryzen 5 3600X
- Memory: 16 GB
- Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 8 GB / AMD Radeon RX Vega 56 8 GB / Intel Arc A750 8 GB
- DirectX: 12
- Storage: 80 GB
As you can see, the specs don't mention the target performance, resolution or graphics preset which is a bit shame, especially since many gamers today play on higher resolutions like 1440p and 4K.
To me, it seems that these recommended specs are for the 1080p resolution, high settings and 60 FPS so you should probably need more powerful hardware if you want to push Shadow of the Erdtree in higher resolution with ray-tracing.
All in all, it's certainly great that Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree won't be demanding so even those gamers with weaker hardware get to experience what will probably be another Game of the Year material release.
But on the other hand, I wish From Software released a more detailed graph that would include everything that I've discussed above, for those who love to crank up the settings to the max.
