Today, Sony have aired another State of Play where we got to see a bunch of new announcements including updates from Sony's first-party studios, new stuff from third-party publishers and much more.
There was certainly plenty of exciting games shown at the event so here's one article with all the announcements to help you track everything easily.
State of Play - September 2 announcements and trailers
1. Resident Evil film trailer
The show opened up with a brutal trailer for the new Resident Evil film, directed by
Zach Cregger (Weapons, Barbarian), which is set to launch later on September 18. Check it out below.
2. Marvel's Wolverine trailer
We also got one last look at Marvel's Wolverine ahead of the game's launch on September 15. The launch trailer gave us a glimpse of bosses, story, characters and action-packed combat.
3. Ghost of Yotei Most Wanted (Complete Edition trailer)
Ghost of Yotei is getting a new mode on October 1 as part of the Complete Edition.
It's a new single-player combat survival mode, where you can choose your character from Atsu, Oyuki, Nagato or Jin, and pick a bounty to take down.
4. Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance
Capcom revealed a new expansion for their monster-hunting title. Called Ascendance, the new content is coming in 2027 and as the title suggests, it's all about flying, taking the combat to the skies.

A giant dragon's sudden siege heralds change in the Forbidden Lands, for both land and sky. Bracing for danger, the Expedition steels themselves as familiar and undiscovered Elder Dragons emerge - and a disturbing new threat prowls the land.

5. Metro 2039 PlayStation 5 gameplay trailer
New gameplay for Metro 2039 aired at State of Play, giving us another look at the game's grim, post-apocalyptic world. The footage was captured entirely on a PlayStation 5 console, and it looks pretty great. Not quite PC great, but great.
Metro is coming on February 4, 2027.
6. Maneater 2 revealed
Shark acrade series Maneater is getting a sequel and as you can imagine, it's more of the same old biting, killing and whatever sharks do in the free hours.
7. Crimson Desert Charting the Unknown
Crimson Desert revealed a trailer for the upcoming expansion, showcasing a bunch of new and intriguing stuff, including underwater traversal, new bosses, and locations. The expansion is coming on October 15.

The story of Pywel continues in Crimson Desert: Charting the Unknown as Kliff, Oongka, and Damiane set out to discover their purpose and shape their futures. 8. LEGO PlayStation 1 Set
We're also getting a LEGO PlayStation 1 product, which is certainly exciting news for all LEGO fans. Check out the official picture below. It's genuinely gorgeous.
9. Final Fantasy Resonance trailer
Square Enix showcased a trailer for Final Fantasy Resonance, coming October 22. The pre-orders and demo are live now.
10. Gundam Rogue Orbit announced
A new Gundam game has been announced. It lets you become a Gundam pilot in a high-mobility action game, published by Bandai Namco and developed by RG Project.
Gundam Rogue Orbit launches on March 5, 2027.
11. Hunter's Moon
Hunter’s Moon is a first-person historical folk horror game, coming to PS5 on October 26 2026.
12. Keeper confirmed for PlayStation
Double Fine's puzzle adventure Keeper is officially launching on Sony's platform after being available on PC and Xbox for a couple of months.
It's available right now on PlayStation 5. A nice little shadowdrop!
13. Uncanyon
Uncanyon is a new game from Annapurna Interactive and Graceful Decay. It's coming sometime in 2027.
Uncover the secrets of Uncanyon, a once-abundant but now-forgotten world, tucked into the seam between unparallel realities. Explore fantastical lands and mysterious, puzzle-filled ruins to find the key to prevent its unravelling.
14. Rev. Noir new trailer
Konami's anime action game is coming in 2027, and it has a new trailer giving us a first look at the characters, world and action-packed combat.
Official descriptioN: Upon being rescued by Finé, a young boy named Asch joins her on a journey to stop the lightfall, a catastrophe that kills all it touches. Little do they know what awaits them at the end of their mission to save the world...Defy cruel fate in this all-new RPG!
15. Rhapsody in Scarlet
Another Konami title reveal. Rhapsody in Scarlet is a third-person hack-and-slash action-adventure coming soon to PS5.
Set in the jazz-filled streets of 1920s New York, female protagonist Ellie Myers embarks on a journey to confront a threat that could shake the world.
16. PlayStation Plus announcements
- Game catalogue: Mycopunk
- Classics: Mega Man X Command Mission, Dino Crisis 2, Ratchet and Clank 1.
17. Saros Zenith update
Saros Zenith is the next big free content update to Saros, which adds new replayable game modes and various new visual and control options to make the game accessible to even more players.
One of the new features includes Overlord Rush, a brand new mode where you can take on the powerful Overlord enemies from the main game back-to-back, go for a high score, and compete with players around the world using integrated leaderboards in a throwback to the classic arcade-style Housemarque is known for.
18. Gran Turismo 7 Spec IV update
Gran Turismo 7 Spec IV update launching in two parts later this year. Check out the video below for first details on the new circuits, new cars, Family Mode, and more coming in October and December of 2026.
19. Until Dawn 2 second trailer
We got another trailer for Firesprite's upcoming sequel to Until Dawn, Sony's cinematic horror experience where you must save teenagers from a notorious killer.
Until Dawn is coming on January 28, 2027.
20. Limited Edition GTA VI controller
Sony and Rockstar are teaming up to release a GTA VI themed limited edition DualSense controller.
21. Final Fantasy VII Revelation Release Date trailer
Final Fantasy VII Revelation is officially launching on April 8, 2027.
