Sorry Bloodborne Hunters, but it looks like you'll have to clear the streets of Yahram in 30 FPS and 1080p resolution for the foreseeable future.
Even though the Bloodborne 60 FPS patch and PC release have been on the gamers' lips for many years, Sony doesn't seem to care much as there are currently no plans for such a release.
According to reliable video game industry insider Jeff Grubb, Bloodborne re-release "is just not happening at the moment" since From Software don't have the time to do it and probably don't want to lock their games to one platform anymore after the success of Elden Ring.
"It's just not happening at the moment. At least not involving From. From's time is worth too much, and Sony probably doesn't want to pay the premium to lock it down. It's hard to imagine From working on a one-console exclusive ever again," Grubb said.
Grubb's comment was related to the recent statements by Bloodborne director Hidetaka Miyazaki, who said he knows for a fact that From Software developers want Bloodborne on more platforms but it's not up to them since Sony own the rights to the IP.
"As one of the creators of Bloodborne, my personal, pure honest opinion is I'd love more players to be able to enjoy it. Especially as a game that is now coming of age, one of those games of the past that gets lost on older hardware—I think any game like that, it'd be nice to have an opportunity for more players to be able to experience that and relive this relic of the past," he told PC Gamer.
Obviously, every developer wants their game played by as many players as possible but it's not always up to them. Exclusives still matter in the game industry and that's perhaps one of the reasons why Sony are still adamant about putting Bloodborne on anything that isn't a PlayStation.
But then again, why not do a remaster/remake exclusively for PlayStation 5? Wouldn't that sell like hotcakes?
All in all, we'll probably never get an answer to these questions as Sony is busy remaking and remastering games that no one asked for (That includes you Until Dawn).
