PlayStation fans will receive another State of Play today as Sony reinstated its gaming showcase for another edition. Featuring new information and trailers from PlayStation Studios titles alongside third-party partners, the State of Play will conclude with a lengthy look at Square Enix’ s upcoming Final Fantasy VII Revelation.
Sony’s first State of Play takes place September 3 at 9: 00 a. m. ET / 6:00 a. m. PT / 1:00 p.m. CEST. That time translates to 2: 00 p.m. BST, which is consistent with when the broadcast will take place according to the original report. You can watch State of Play live on PlayStation’ YouTube and Twitch pages.
Final Fantasy VII Revelation In The Spotlight
Sony didn’t share a full list of what to expect during the State of Play, but we do know that Square Enix will cap off the event with a lengthy look at Final Fantasy VII Revelation and its world.
Final Fantasy VII Revelation was last shown during Gamescom, where Square Enix shared more of its open world and introduced players to the Weapons and the Highwind. The RPG is set for a spring 2027 release on PS5.
Later that day will be State of Play Japan, which will immediately follow Sony’s first showcase. State of Play Japan will feature Japanese and Asian developers, as well as gameplay, announcements, and deeper dives into some of their respective games.
Japanese voice actor Yuki Kaji will host. Between both shows there should be several hours of gaming news.
