The upcoming Shadow of the Erdtree expansion for Elden Ring has achieved the highest average score of any expansion for the game in its first reviews.
The Shadow of the Erdtree expansion for the hit game Elden Ring is out on Friday, and the first reviews for it are already available. Critics praise this add-on with all the bells and whistles, so much so that it made history.
Namely, the average score for the Bandai Namco's Shadow of the Erdtree expansion on Metacritic is 95, and on OpenCritic 94, which makes the Elden Ring expansion the highest rated expansion in history. The previous record was held by the Blood & Wine expansion for The Witcher 3, with an average score of 92.
As usual, From Software's new entry boasts a fair challenge. Reviews say that the expansion has refreshed the world of Elden Ring with new mechanics, beautiful locations and an updated story.
The expansion is also quite substantial, which is indicated by the price of 40 euros. However, Shadow of the Erdtree cannot be obtained separately, you must have the original Elden Ring to run it.
Likewise, you cannot jump into the expansion without first playing the main game, but you must defeat two optional boss opponents: Mohg and Starscrouge Radahn.
Many players are happy for FromSoftware to release this masterpiece DLC. Many have admitted that Elden Ring exported them from frustration to incredible satisfaction and enjoyment.
