Legendary game director Hidetaka Miyazaki officially confirms that he and his studio From Software are working on multiple new projects, but it doesn't look like any of these are a true Elden Ring sequel.

Japanese developer From Software are looking to build on their massively successful action RPG Elden Ring in the coming years with several new projects.

In a new interview with the Japanese gaming outlet gamewatch, From Software President and Elden Ring Game Director Hidetaka Miyazaki revealed that the studio is very busy working on multiple games with a lot of genre variety.

Miyazaki hinted that From Software might be expanding the Elden Ring IP but was pretty clear that this doesn't mean Elden Ring 2 is in the works.

"At the moment, we are not thinking of developing Elden Ring 2. However, this is not to deny the development of the Elden Ring IP," he said. "...FromSoftware is running multiple projects as usual. There are various variations of projects among them, so please look forward to it"

Miyazaki did not elaborate on what these mysterious projects are but you can bet some of them are big fantasy action RPGs that we all love. Personally, I'd be ecstatic if we got another Dark Souls game but I certainly wouldn't say no to another Sekiro.

It will probably take a while before we see these games as From Software just recently wrapped up the development of Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, which was a massive project that required a lot of workforce.

I'd be ecstatic if Dark Souls 4 is From Software's next big game

One thing that is certainly interesting is the statement about expanding the Elden Ring IP. That could possibly hint at a potential anime or film deal which would help the franchise reach a new audience before the next Elden Ring game.

From Software's transformation from a Japanese studio that made these hardcore challenging RPGs to one of the world's biggest and most beloved studios that now releases such massive, mainstream video games is nothing but remarkable.

Yes, the studio still has some franchises that don't appeal to the majority of gamers like Armored Core but their fantasy RPGs are certainly becoming widely accepted and I bet that will only continue with the studio's next projects.
