PlayStation studio Naughty Dog are working on a new IP which could be titled Timeless Travel

Environment Artist at Naughty Dog may have accidentally revealed the name of their highly-anticipated new PlayStation exclusive.

Naughty Dog are one of the PlayStation's first-party studios that are keeping their cards close to their chest in terms of new game announcements.

We know that the beloved dev team were working on The Last of Us multiplayer project, which was unfortunately cancelled but there was another big project in the works at the Santa Monica-based studio.

And that big project seems to be called or at least codenamed Timeless Travel, according to a description on a LinkedIn profile of one of the Naughty Dog employees, who we won't name here as we don't really want to cause anyone trouble.

My guess would be that this is just a codename since Timeless Travel doesn't sound like a catchy name that Sony would want for their exclusive, especially the one coming from such a renowned studio.

The interesting bit is that this name or codename tells us what the game may be about - fantasy with time travel elements, which is certainly interesting given that Naughty Dog fans have long speculated about a fictional fantasy game from The Last of Us as Naughty Dog's next project.

Naughty Dog could start a brand new story with their new game, leaving the Last of Us fans to wait a little longer for the third instalment in the series

Keep in mind that everything you've read is just a rumour with some speculation and nothing has officially been confirmed. It's also hard to verify if the profile of the person is real so this one should certainly be taken with a grain of salt.

So far, we only know that Naughty Dog's new game has been in development since 2020. That's the information from Neil Druckmann himself but other than that, the details are almost non-existent.

Given that five years is quite a lot in terms of game development, I'd say we should probably see the announcement of Naughty Dog's new game fairly soon. My bet would be on The Game Awards show in December.
