Destiny 2 has one type of activity that everyone hates and the devs are looking to change it by changing what the rewards are all about.

Lost Sectors at higher difficulties are one of the worst activities you can choose to play in Destiny 2 currently but that stands to change with Lightfall.

The reason why it is so horrible is that they are repetitive, not really engaging and the main prize, Exotic pieces, have terrible RNG so you can end up farming a dull activity for three hours straight and be rewarded for it with nothing but depression.

Bungie is changing the main focus of Lost Sectors to enhancement materials in Lightfall so those who delve into these caverns and ruins will have something to show for it.

Here is the new Lost Sector loot table.

These meek rewards will be a thing of the past as of February 28, 2023

Simply put, Legend and Master Lost Sectors will now be a great source of enhancement materials but it is still recommended to avoid going there solely for the purpose of farming Exotics. There are no changes regarding their drop rate.

This will provide an avenue for solo players to farm the materials, provided they don't group up eventually and do Nightfalls, which will also have better material rewards.
