Two retailer store pages for Grand Theft Auto 6 appear to have quietly updated within the last few hours, and given the context around them, it's hard not to take notice.
Xbox's GTA 6 page updated today, while eagle-eyed fans on social media have also spotted Walmart's listing appearing to go live. Neither Rockstar nor Take-Two have made any official announcement.
The timing is certainly interesting. Earlier this week, multiple Best Buy affiliates reportedly received promotional emails referencing a "GTA 6 Pre Order (Physical Game)" campaign scheduled to run from 18 May through 21 May 2026. The leak gained traction quickly, corroborated by leaker Tom Henderson and several users online and on Reddit.
The reported pre-order window also aligns with recent comments from Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick, who has repeatedly stated that marketing for GTA 6 would intensify in summer 2026. The company continues to hold firm to the game's 19 November 2026 release date for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S.
But obviously, none of this is confirmed. Store pages update for all sorts of backend reasons, and retailers have jumped the gun before on listings that led nowhere immediately. Rockstar has been rather unpredictable in its marketing, and Take-Two's CEO had previously suggested the summer as the point at which marketing would really begin ramping up.
That said, if pre-orders do open today or in the coming days, many expect Rockstar to accompany it with fresh footage, updated gameplay details, or pricing information — and possibly a third trailer.
