Subnautica 2 has officially released into Early Access, marking the debut of Unknown Worlds’ hotly anticipated survival sequel. Available now on PC and Xbox Series X/S via Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
In Subnautica 2 players will explore an entirely new alien planet from the water down, discovering strange ecosystems, deadly wildlife, and untold secrets lurking in its depths.
This includes gathering resources, crafting necessary equipment, and building bases to survive against the elements surrounding them.
For the first time in the series players will be able to enjoy optional multiplayer alongside solo progression. Groups of up to four players will be able to jump into unknown waters together with friends in co-op.
According to Unknown Worlds, plenty of content is already available for players to explore in Early Access including biomes, advanced crafting, new vehicles, and dozens of exotic creatures.
The developer says player feedback will be used to improve and expand the game throughout its Early Access period.Survival remains a key focus in Subnautica 2, with players forced to manage oxygen levels, food, and resources as they take on plunging depths. Mystery also seems to play a larger role this time around, with a few key details about the game’s story left under wraps for now.
Subnautica 2 is priced at €29.99 during its Early Access period. Unknown Worlds says players can expect the game to grow significantly over the next few years, with a predicted two years of Early Access as more features, creatures, and story are introduced.
