007 First Light shown running at 60 FPS on PS5 Pro after previous criticism about performance issues

IO Interactive has showcased new 007 First Light gameplay on PS5 Pro while confirming 60 FPS Performance Modes on consoles.

007 First Light has just been shown off again before launch as IO Interactive highlights the game running at 60 FPS on PS5 Pro. This newest gameplay showcase revisits the airport infiltration mission first shown off during the State of Play deep dive into 007 First Light, but IO Interactive took time in this latest stream to hone in on performance upgrades and gameplay polish.

After receiving criticism and jokes online that players dubbed “007 FPS,” IO Interactive is looking to show the action-adventure can run smoothly on current-gen consoles.

In addition to giving players another look at gameplay running smoothly at 60 FPS, the new gameplay also allows players to check out improved animations, cleaner visuals, and tweaks made to the HUD before it launches later this month.

Performance Modes Confirmed for Consoles

In addition to their PS5 Pro gameplay reveal earlier today, IO Interactive has officially confirmed that the base PS5 and Xbox Series X versions of the game will also run in two different graphical modes when they launch.

Performance Mode, which will run at 60 FPS, and Quality Mode which runs at 30 FPS with improved visuals. While they didn’t mention exact resolutions, this should ease concerns about performance on the base consoles.

Couple small things to note from this new gameplay video too. Motion blur looks reduced which helps with visibility when shooting, and the “License to Kill” meter has been moved to the top of the screen to avoid taking up as much space during shootouts.

Bond sneaks into an airport in the mission on display here before getting spotted and forced to fight his way through an area after some turret work to stop 009’s aircraft from taking off.

It’s yet another sequence that mixes stealth with shooting and big set pieces, something we’ve seen mixed in quite a bit.Performance details for the Nintendo Switch 2 have yet to be revealed, but we do know the version will release later this summer. 007 First Light launches May 27 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
