Destiny 2 players were somewhat annoyed when the shoulder charge abilities lost the potential to one-shot enemies but it wasn't long until they started using a workaround with sliding.
Namely, people would sprint, start sliding towards an enemy, briefly shoot them and then activate the melee ability to still get a quick kill but it appears Bungie is not happy with this either.
As such, shoulder charge and sliding melee abilities will be disabled in these scenarios.
Starting with Season of the Wish, sliding and sprinting melee abilities simply won't activate if you shoot during a slide first.
Affected abilities are:
- Consecration
- Flechette Storm
- Hammer Strike
- Howl of the Storm
- Lightning Surge
- Seismic Strike
- Shield Bash
- Tempest Strike
Unfortunately for the Titans, it appears that their glory days of slamming people instantly are not coming back anytime soon but this set of nerfs is likely to annoy Hunters as well.
In any case, the message seems to be that if you want instant kills in close range, you have to rely on shotguns and nothing else.
