Forza Horizon 6 continues to smash player records this early into its launch cycle. New Steam numbers show that FH6 hit a peak concurrent user count of 181K on May 17, 2026.
Players have been running to Playground Games’ latest iteration of the open-world racer, showing significant interest in the Horizon series as a whole.
Forza Horizon 5 has also helped grow the playerbase over the past couple of years, so it will be interesting to see if players continue to stick with the series moving forward.
Players have enjoyed exploring Japan while racing across mountain roads, huge cities, countryside circuits, and online. Forza Horizon 6 creators showcased an improved weather system, plenty of returning and new progression activities tied to Discover Japan and Horizon Play, as well as resurrecting the beloved Wristband progression return.
Hours are being logged in-game as players unlock new races and earn progression rewards. The overall structure of progression was praised by players at launch with the reintroduction of Wristbands in combination with Stamps and Horizon Play levels.
Keep in mind that this data only accounts for the players on Steam. Forza Horizon 6 launched day one and onto Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, so the majority of players will be playing the game outside of Steam.
The game launched on Xbox Series X|S and PC handheld devices as well, such as Steam Deck and ROG Xbox Ally. We can only assume player counts will continue to rise as weekly Festival Playlist updates roll out, not to mention post-launch content and future expansions on the docket.
