Crime Boss: Rockay City is coming to PlayStation and Xbox consoles on June 15, 2023.
The game is an odd one since it features numerous stars from the big screen, such as Michael Madsen, Chuck Norris, Danny Trejo, Kim Basinger, Danny Glover, Michael Rooker, Damion Poiter and Vanilla Ice but despite that, it seems to have been made on a budget.
505 Games and Ingame Studios didn't really address the blowback from the PC players officially but checking any type of review aggregate doesn't leave anyone optimistic.
It is for this reason that it's weird the game is actually making its way to consoles and the project hasn't been cancelled. After all, it is hard to imagine it selling well after being dragged through mud on PC.
One of the main complaints from reviewers are the stars of the show themselves, with people stating the actors didn't put much into their performances which ended up looking like they were phoned in.
Just like the name suggests, the game is about getting yourself to the top of the criminal underworld in Rockay City, which would normally be exciting but now it just looks like a washed-down version of GTA Vice City in first person.
Others compared Crime Boss: Rockay City to the Payday series, stating it was a more repetitive version of that. At least it doesn't cost a full $60, with the price tag set to $40 instead.
