If you’ve been on the fence about 007 First Light, you can now try before you buy. Following the tradition from their Hitman games, Io Interactive have launched a free Starter Pack that lets players play 007 First Light's entire opening mission in Iceland as a young James Bond.
What’s in the 007 First Light Free Starter Pack?
The Starter Pack includes the full Iceland mission, the game’s opening chapter. It’s available now on PC via Steam and Xbox Series X|S, and comes to PlayStation 5 on 10 November.
If you're on Sony's console, PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers can jump in with a one-hour Timed Trial of the full game.
Best of all, progress from either the Starter Pack or the Timed Trial carries over to the full game if you buy it, so you won’t have to replay the Iceland mission. Not that it's bad mission; quite the contrary, it's a proper spectacle. It's just more convenient and easier to sell the full deal when your progress carries over.
007 First Light is also 50% off
To go with the Starter Pack, IO Interactive have also discounted the full game for a limited time:
- PC (Steam): 40% off, 5 to 9 November
- Xbox Series X|S: 40% off, 5 to 15 November
- PlayStation 5: 50% off, 5 to 30 November
PlayStation players get the best deal by some distance, both in the size of the discount and how long it lasts.
007 First Light is IO Interactive’s take on James Bond, telling an original origin story about a young Bond earning his 00 status. It’s the studio’s first major project since wrapping up the World of Assassination trilogy with Hitman 3, and brings its trademark mix of stealth, gadgets and creative problem-solving to the Bond universe.
