The Rogue Trader’s journey through the Koronus Expanse is coming to an end. Owlcat Games have confirmed that Processional of the Damned, the fourth and final DLC for Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, launches on 8 December 2026.
The reveal trailer, which you can check out above, is very short and doesn’t show any gameplay. Instead, it shows the game’s characters reflected in shards of broken glass, a fitting image for a DLC built around a new Madness mechanic.
Processional of the Damned story and new companion Stella
Like the previous DLCs, Processional of the Damned is fully integrated into the main game, adding new quests throughout the story rather than sitting apart from it.
It introduces a new companion, Stella, a frail-looking young woman with powerful psychic abilities, raised by the Order of Saint Cognatius. She leads the Rogue Trader and their crew to the Processional of the Damned, an enormous graveyard of voidships, where they become trapped.
To escape, the crew must work with the survivors of a lost missionary expedition, venture deeper into the graveyard and its hostile ships, and find out who lured Stella there, and why.
New Zealot archetype and Madness mechanic
The DLC adds a new playable archetype, the Zealot, a melee specialist built around beating enemies to death. There’s also Madness, a new feature that affects all companions, although Owlcat haven’t explained yet how it works.
New enemies are drawn from the Archenemy and the Aeldari, alongside new gear and other gameplay features.
Platforms
Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader is available on PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store and GOG, as well as PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. The trailer lists PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S for Processional of the Damned, though, meaning the DLC is skipping last-gen and Switch 2, at least on launch.
Rogue Trader launched in December 2023 as Owlcat’s first Warhammer 40,000 game, following its Pathfinder CRPGs. It puts players in charge of a Rogue Trader dynasty, exploring the Koronus Expanse with a crew of companions in turn-based combat. Owlcat’s next Warhammer 40,000 project is Dark Heresy.
