Remedy Entertainment and 505 Games launched a trailer for Control's Ultimate Edition, announcing its arrival on the holy trinity of platforms, both current and next-gen.
According to the latest blog post on 505 Games' website, Control Ultimate Edition features the base game, as well as The Foundation and AWE, the two chief expansions.
The package also contains The Expeditions end game mode, Photo Mode and all the content updates that launched since.
As for the launch dates, Control launches on Steam on August 27, 2020, but the rest aren't that far along. Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will be having their launch on September 10, 2020.
Remedy listed the launch dates for Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 too, or more like launch time frames, as they said "end of 2020", not unlike what Sony and Microsoft have to say in that department.
By the way, if you're gunning for a physical edition of Control on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, you'll have to wait for the end of 2020, or early 2021 if you're considering the same on next-gen editions of the aforementioned.
Perhaps the best news for early adopters, however, is the next-gen upgrade program, as Remedy confirmed that the Ultimate Edition will have a free next-gen digital upgrade program. They promised more information on that, but suffice to say - early adopters of PS5 and Xbox One will not be out of Control.
Note that the free next-gen upgrade program is valid only for the Ultimate Edition, so the current owners will have to settle for what they've got.
