Update 2.3.0 introduces new "Souls Offering" player project to commemorate fallen Raiders and includes equipment changes

ARC Raiders Update 2.3.0 adds the Souls Offering player project, buffs the Heavy Shield and Flame Spray, improves Frigate loot and fixes numerous bugs.

ARC Raiders is getting an update today with Update 2.3.0. There is a new player project and equipment changes, loot changes and tons of bug fixes, along with the Noxious Set and changes to the Frigate and various performance and stability fixes.

With the recent release of Frozen Trail we were doing update every week with bug fixes. After this update we will be going back to our normal cadence of bug fix updates every 3 weeks and will continue to have store updates every week.

Souls Offering Player Project

Update 2.3.0 brings a new player project called Souls Offering. This project allows you to remember Raiders that have been lost while fighting ARC.

With news of the lost at Pendola Pass reaching Speranza Celeste wants to allow Raiders to remember those who didn't make it back. Players will be able to complete this project as we remember those we have lost. More info about the pieces will be provided at a later date.

Equipment Changes

Some major equipment changes with this update:

  • Heavy Shield charge is now 90 base instead of 80. We hope this helps players survive longer and bridge the gap between heavy and medium shield.
  • Flame Spray does 13 damage per second up from 10. Also drains durability 50% slower.
  • Firefly Burner will activate on throw. It will travel while dropping flames and explode after about 3 seconds. You no longer need to shoot it to activate the flames.
  • Adrenaline Shot can now be used at max stamina. It will no longer stack but can be refreshed by using another Adrenaline Shot.

Loot Changes

There have been some loot changes in this update. The Emperor now has lower tier loot closer to the front and will drop higher tier loot as you go deeper.

There have also been changes to the Frigate to help guide you through it. We have added visual hatches to show your progress through the puzzle. As well as audio cues to let you know if your power-core vents and hatches are open or closed.

You can now ping the Frigate from farther away when it is traveling into the area. Cargo gate has been updated and we have changed loot to give you better rewards when you go deeper.

There have been other bug fixes regarding collision not working, loot that couldn't be accessed, places you could hide and bugs that could leave you stuck around the Frigate and fallen Emperor at Pendola Pass.

Grappling Hook and Movement

Embark fixed some bugs with the Grappling Hook that would cause you to fly very fast when hitting certain geometry. As well as when grappling onto certain ARC parts and pulling objects around corners.

Embark have also fixed a bug where your hand would get stuck if you threw the Grappling Hook and switched to another item. When ziplining you should now travel up when you attach from the ground. The zipline preview cable should not disappear when you are looking far away.

Fixed bugs with landing heavy when dodge rolling and being able to place barricades through walls. And fixed a bug where you could bypass the prevention system in locked rooms.

Other Changes and Bug Fixes

There are many other changes to menus and customisation:

  • Camera Bob added to Gameplay Settings.
  • Added Color Push and Black and White filters to Advanced Camera.
  • Basic Camera frames better and has less blurry depth of field.
  • Outpost furniture can be placed better, added sound to crafting and better item preview.
  • Rewards pass screens have been improved and better descriptions for Weapon Amplifications.
  • New Codex Stat that will show you how many times others have revived you.
  • Daily Quests would not reset in the menu when they expired.
  • Improved Smoke, Lights, Skin shading and AO.

Performance and Stability

There have been many stability fixes in this update. Most related to the Frigate. Reduced audio memory usage on Xbox Series S and reduced overall memory usage to help with a rare crash when visiting the Frigates cargo hold with a large party. We have added a work around for a crash on AMD RX 7000 series GPU's when ray tracing is enabled.
