THQ Nordic has announced a brand new update for Reanimal, adding The Prisoner: First Chapter of Expanded World DLC to the co-operative horror adventure. The Prisoner brings players two new playable characters, previously unexplored territory, and another creepy tale set in the world of Reanimal.
Players can once again take control of two new characters as they desperately attempt to survive. Meet The Soldier and The Prisoner as they struggle to navigate through streets they once knew before taking a darker path through areas of the Reanimal world players have never seen before.
Diving headlong into the events that surround the world of Reanimal, The Prisoner serves as the first of three total chapters players can dive into as part of the Expanded World. Each chapter is a standalone story that allows players to not only expand upon the world Tarsier established in the base game, but also provides new takes on its characters and long buried secrets waiting to be uncovered.
Reanimal The Prisoner Update Features
Along with the new DLC chapter, the update promises some technical tweaks and a few bug fixes.
- The Prisoner DLC Chapter – Explore a new story featuring The Soldier and The Prisoner.
- New Areas – Visit areas of the Reanimal world players have not had access to before.
- Expanded World – Reanimal: The Prisoner starts off a trilogy of additional DLC stories.
- HDR Improvements – An improved HDR tone mapper.
- Crash Fixes – Various game fixes that caused the main game to crash.
- Network Stability Improvements – Many improvements to online co-op stability.
Known Issues With The Update
Online co-op players will find that the camera may desync for a few moments in the Junkyard if they respawn with no delay before the driving portion of the chapter begins. Camera should realign once the bike begins moving.
During DLC1 players may experience an issue by telling their companion to hide after the initial chase midpoint of the chapter. Companions can sometimes get stuck. Workaround: Reload from checkpoint.
Now that The Prisoner has been released we have plans to further Reanimal's story with two additional chapters coming as Expanded World entries.
