Reanimal Patch 1.5.1 details

Reanimal Patch 1.5.1 is now live, bringing crash fixes for Intel and AMD hardware, online stability improvements, and multiple softlock resolutions.

Reanimal just got Patch 1.5.1, fixing a number of critical bugs that have been found since launch. This update was available in early access on the developer branch before rolling out to everyone now.

Many of the fixes are stability and hardware-specific crash fixes, as well as network optimization changes to help with online performance. Numerous progression blockers and softlocks have been fixed throughout the game as well. Here's a list of everything the patch includes.

Stability Improvements

Developers have addressed numerous stability issues with patch 1.5.1:

  • Overheating related crashes have been fixed for 13th and 14th generation Intel CPUs.
  • Added a temporary fix for crashes occurring on specific AMD hardware/drivers.
  • Anyone who has experienced crashes since release should see an improvement in stability.

 Network Connectivity Changes

Routing of packets between the client and Epic Online Services (EOS) has been updated. Among other things, this:

  • Lowers the ping spike when routing packets.
  • Helps alleviate some desync issues that were occurring online.

Devs are still holding clients to the 300ms ping disconnect rule as anything higher tends to cause severe desync.

Softlock and Progression Fixes

Opera House (Tank Section)

  • Fixed an issue where blocking volumes were not correctly disabled when reloading from a checkpoint after dying, preventing further progression.

Online – Tank to Final Sheep Beast Transition

  • Fixed an issue where transitioning from the tank scene to the final Sheep Beast scene could result in a black screen.
  • Note: This is a partial fix. In very rare cases, the issue may still occur.

Forest Village

  • Fixed an issue where certain level triggers could be bypassed, potentially leaving players in a locked progression state.

Bunker Puzzle

  • Fixed a softlock that could occur if players solved the bunker puzzle, exited the area, and then died — causing them to respawn without a way to progress.

Barn (Single Player)

  • Fixed an issue where the player could occasionally lose movement control after entering the barn for the first time.

Orphanage (Stacked Beds Room)

  • Fixed a progression issue where players could become stuck after defeating all spider kids due to the area not unlocking properly.

Known Issues

The developers have acknowledged ongoing issues:

Shader precompilation can take upwards of 10 minutes on certain AMD CPUs (including the AMD Ryzen 5 3400G). This issue is being hardware accelerated and cannot be resolved with a patch.

Certain users are experiencing disconnects even with stable connections under 300ms.
