Ward gear is going away but you will still want to get your buffs for specific enemies with the Rise of the Angry Earth expansion in New World, especially when it comes to expedition.
In the case of Savage Divide, the necessary buff will be against beasts since they are the only enemy type you will fight there, making it rather unique across all expeditions in the game.
This is not the only way the new expedition is going to be unique though as it will have brand new enemies, multiple paths and a secret.
Yes, it will just be the beasts but there are actually new beasts to face in this expedition, such as the gorillas, mammoths and chameleons, on top of things we've already seen, such as the dragons that make the pool farming in Brimstone Sands somewhat annoying.
Savage Divide's multiple paths were not elaborated on but they are probably one of the reasons why the new expedition is apparently more approachable than the previous ones.
That said, all the expeditions will have their difficulty toned down but the actual challenge will be shifted to the mutators, which will become more of a nuisance than before.
Much like the paths, the secret was not revealed as it would no longer be a secret and the point would be lost. Rest assured, we will be able to find out after October 3, 2023, when the Rise of the Angry Earth arrives.
