Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is a first-person shooter developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision, launching on 23 October 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam, Battle.net, and Xbox on PC. The twenty-third entry in the Call of Duty franchise and the direct sequel to Modern Warfare III (2023), it is the first mainline Call of Duty title to launch on Nintendo Switch 2, developed natively for the platform in partnership with Digital Legends.

Campaign Early Access begins on 16 October for Vault Edition owners. Development is led by Infinity Ward alongside a broad support roster including Beenox, Sledgehammer Games, Treyarch, Raven Software, High Moon Studios, and Activision Shanghai. The game is an Xbox Play Anywhere title.

The campaign follows two interwoven storylines set against a North Korean full-scale invasion of South Korea. Players control Private Park, a young South Korean soldier thrust into live combat for the first time as cities collapse around him, and Captain Price, who wages an off-book personal war from the shadows, staying one step ahead of those hunting him. The two threads collide as the conflict spreads beyond anyone's control.

Campaign set pieces span trench warfare in Korea, close-quarters combat in New York, high-speed chases through Paris, SAS night raids in Mumbai, and city-wide assaults to reclaim occupied territory. Alongside the campaign and traditional multiplayer, Modern Warfare 4 introduces DMZ, a narrative-driven extraction experience set in Hajin, an exclusion zone shaped by the campaign's events, blending story missions, dynamic operations, and match-to-match progression in a persistent PvPvE environment.
