Amazon Games has officially launched Season 8 of New World: Aeternum named Season of the Divide, brings players a substantial content update which introduces new PvP modes, powerful Artifacts and the Coral Divide map alongside a hardcore seasonal server.
Following a two-hour downtime the update activated on May 13 bringing one of the most extensive PvP-focused seasons ever to New World: Aeternum.
Capture the Flag Makes Its Debut
With Season 8 players now engage in Capture the Flag for the first time in New World where 10v10 teams battle in fast-paced, vertical maps to capture enemy flags.
The inclusion of Powerups and Jump Pads creates strategic chaos which establishes the game’s new offering as unique compared to current PvP modes. Limited-time preview events during Season 8 will feature Capture the Flag before full details are released.
Outpost Rush Evolves: Barebones Mode + Coral Divide Map
During Season 8 Outpost Rush receives two important updates that transform the game experience.

- Coral Divide Map: This ocean-themed arena now permanently features vertical combat, flanking routes and a central fort battle of great intensity.
The Coral Divide map received multiple balance and quality-of-life improvements such as restricted repair points and new Raid UI among other changes.

The largest Arena 3v3 map will be previewed in Season 8 and it takes place within an ancient temple grove. Ranged builds gain a temporary advantage due to the accelerated approach of the death fog before melee combat becomes dominant.
Hardcore Seasonal Server Arriving in June

- Start with accelerated leveling and streamlined crafting.
- Death results in permanent loss of access to specific Journey rewards.
