Riot is giving away a free skin to League of Legends players that have played League Classic. With League Classic coming to a close Riot has decided to reward players that played 20 games before October 21st 2026 with the Rustiest Blitzcrank skin.
Players should see this skin appear in their collection in the next few days. If you did not play 20 games before the given date you can still get the skin from the Blue Essence Emporium. Just know that it will cost quite a bit of Blue Essence.
How To Get Rustiest Blitzcrank For Free
You will need to have played 20 games of League Classic before October 21st 2026 to be able to get the skin for free. Riot states that it will be 20 games played not wins.
You can no longer play League Classic to earn this skin since the date has come and gone. If you did play 20 games keep an eye on your collection. If you did not make it in time to play 20 games there will be another option.
Rustiest Blitzcrank Will Be 150,000 Blue Essence
Riot stated that the Rustiest Blitzcrank skin will be sold in the Blue Essence Emporium when Patch 26.24 is released. The skin will also show up in future Emporiums.
150,000 Blue Essence is pretty high but if you have been playing for a long time you may have enough saved up.
The skin itself lives up to its name. You can see a lot of rust on the skin with the color scheme being more of an orange and brown. There is some blue glow and electricity on the skin as well.
League Classic Will End In January 2027
As mentioned before League Classic will be ending its run soon. It will be around until the end of Season 3 which will be in January 2027.
Riot says that not many people are playing the game anymore and they have moved on to other areas of League of Legends. Since less people are playing the game you may experience longer queue times and bigger MMR ranges.
This may not mean that League Classic is done forever though. Riot would like to bring the game mode back in the future. They may add more things to it when it does return but no dates have been given.
They are also asking for players to give feedback on their League Classic experience. So if you qualified for the free skin enjoy it. And if not you will just have to wait for the next Emporium.
