Helldivers 2 continues to roll out fresh content that keeps us engaged in our mission to blow things up for democracy. We've seen a variety of new gear to test, and the enemy has been getting some new toys as well. Their latest technological upgrade involves the massive Factory Striders, which are causing chaos in Cyberstan.
Fortunately, it seems Super Earth is developing new stratagems that could help balance the odds in the fight for freedom. Thanks to some leaked videos, we've caught a glimpse of what's coming our way. We don't know when these stratagems will be available, but we're hopeful that they will be soon.
Helldivers 2: New Stratagem Anti-Tank Mines
We've all tried the Anti-Personnel Mines in Helldivers 2, and while they're decent, they don't pack the punch we need. We need something bigger and better to crush our adversaries. Thanks to leaked information, we know that Anti-Tank Mines are on their way.
These new mines function like Anti-Personnel Mines, dispersing a bunch of explosives across the ground. They deliver a heavy blow and can obliterate groups of lower-tier bots, leaving just a few survivors to deal with.
When tested against a Hulk, it took five detonations to bring it down. That might seem a bit underwhelming, but if the Hulk is in a crowd, the area-of-effect damage could take out multiple enemies at once.
True to their name, Anti-Tank Mines annihilated an Annihilator Tank with just three direct hits. This could be a game-changer for handling some of the tougher foes in Helldivers 2.
Leakers say the Anti-Tank Mines can destroy a Factory Strider with just a few blasts. If that's accurate, it will be a huge setback for the Automaton invaders.
Against the Terminids, the mines were equally or even more effective. The Anti-Tank Mines launched swarms of bugs into the air and took out a Charger with just two explosions. Once this new stratagem is available, life will get a lot easier for us
Helldivers 2: New Stratagem Airburst Rocket Launcher
The Airburst Rocket Launcher is another unrevealed stratagem on its way to Helldivers 2. This fresh support weapon might just be the anti-air solution Super Earth teased a while back. But if you think this weapon is solely for targeting airborne foes, you're mistaken.
The concept behind the Airburst Rocket is that upon firing, it detonates upon detecting an enemy in its trajectory. Like a cluster bomb, it scatters and explodes, causing significant damage over a wide area. Reports suggest it can wipe out entire swarms of Shriekers with a single rocket, along with Dropships and Gunships.
It's also effective against Automaton tanks and enemy structures. So far, it's effortlessly dispatched whatever we've tested it against. The only drawback is that the Airburst Rocket Launcher will occupy both the support weapon and backpack slots. Nevertheless, it's clear this new stratagem will have a significant impact on the Helldivers 2 meta.
Helldivers 2: New Stratagem EXO-49 Emancipator
If you've caught wind of the EXO-49 Emancipator, you're likely as thrilled as everyone else. This upcoming mech boasts dual Autocannons, each armed with 75 rounds, totaling a formidable 150 Autocannon rounds per mech. Essentially, you'll be strolling around in what amounts to a tank, wreaking havoc wherever you go.
There's hardly a challenge the Emancipator won't be able to handle. Leaked footage shows it effortlessly taking on Hulks, Chargers, and Automaton Laser turrets. Whether you need to clear out a base, dismantle Fabricators, or tackle formidable foes, this new stratagem will make it seem like a walk in the park.
The concern isn't whether the Emancipator will be effective in Helldivers 2; it's more about how long it will take to reach us. We can only hope it arrives sooner rather than later, much like the other stratagems mentioned above.
Helldivers 2: New Stratagem SEAF Troop Drop
Rumours have been circulating about the possibility of calling in friendly NPCs to aid in the fight for democracy in Helldivers 2. The SEAF Troop Drop is speculated to be one such feature on the horizon, but from what we've glimpsed, it appears the stratagem is far from ready for unveiling.
Details are scarce, but it seems that at some point, we may have the ability to deploy six friendly units to provide support in battle. The effectiveness of this stratagem will heavily depend on the AI behaviour of these troops.
If they simply stand exposed and perish, it's unlikely that Helldivers will view them as a credible asset. However, if these units actively assist and contribute to dealing damage, this stratagem could become a highly favoured option in the future.
That sums up all the information we currently have on the upcoming stratagems. When they finally make their debut, they're bound to shake things up significantly in Helldivers 2. The only downside is the uncertainty surrounding their release date. Hopefully, we won't have to wait too long for them to become available.
