Arrowhead Game Studios has released Helldivers 2 update 1.000.304 on both PC and PS5 platforms, primarily focusing on addressing crash issues and implementing various fixes.

Arrowhead Games Studios has rolled out update 1.000.304 for Helldivers 2, addressing a host of significant bugs and game crashes that have plagued players since its February launch. The online co-op shooter initially experienced server breakdowns due to unprecedented sales, but Arrowhead managed to stabilize the game, leading to continued growth and making it Sony's fastest-selling PlayStation game.

However, Helldivers 2 encountered another setback with the PSN Account controversy, where Sony proposed a system requiring PC players to create and link a PlayStation Network account.

This decision was met with backlash, leading to review bombings on Steam and the game being delisted in over 150 countries. Despite this, Arrowhead remains committed to updating the game, first with a new Warbond and now with the latest patch.

The patch includes 10 bug fixes and addresses 17 known issues, ranging from underpowered weapons to misleading crosshairs. Among the bug fixes are solutions for crashing problems and various miscellaneous issues reported by players.

However, Arrowhead acknowledges that they are still playing catch-up in scaling up their workforce to meet the demands of the player base, exacerbated by the PSN linking controversy.
