Co-op craziness Chained Together is about to get a multiplayer gauntlet for friends to climb. Developer Lab42 Games and publisher Secret Mode have shared that a free update is coming to Chained Together this month introducing the community’s most requested mode to the series. Dubbed 2v2 Race, this new mode pits two teams of two against the clock in a race to the top.
2v2 Race features two teams racing to climb as high as they can before time runs out after 30 minutes. Players will have to fend for themselves while traversing over hazards as they climb, jump, swim, and drive their way up the tower.
Chained Together’s New 2v2 Race Mode will Launch This Month
Lab42 Games’ newest update to Chained Together will challenge players and their friends to race against the clock in teams of two. 2v2 Race places two teams up against each other to climb as far as possible before a timer hits 0 after thirty minutes. Players will have the option to use one of two new free outfits while racing.

Secret Mode has confirmed with Preview VR that Lab42 Games is taking the reins on creating new content for Chained Together moving forward. The studio previously collaborated with Secret Mode on games such as A Little to the Left and Wobbledogs. They plan to support Chained Together with new content and updates throughout the rest of 2026, with new maps being the next big update on the docket.
Chained Together was released way back in June of 2024 and has quickly found a player base since its release. The game has sold over 10 million copies across all platforms and even took home awards at The Golden Joystick Awards and The Streamer Awards.
