ArenaNet and NCSoft have announced that Guild Wars 2: Secrets of the Obscure is now available for all players, bringing along a few new features while adventuring in one of the biggest mysteries of Tyria ever since the first game.
Wizard's Tower in Kessex Hills will become a new explorable area but that is not all that the release has to offer.
With the expansion, the players will see Advanced Flight masteries, The Wizard's Vault, Relics and the Weaponmaster Training.
Advanced Flight Masteries means that the players will get a new avenue to obtain the Skyscale mount but training it in both the new version and the one from Path of Fire will get additional functionality for the flying lizard. In-combat mounting and updraft use masteries will also apply to the Griffon mount.
The Wizard's vault is basically a new system that is designed to keep the players doing the same thing over and over, day in, day out, in exchange for unique items such as armour pieces, weapon and mount skins, gold, crafting materials and so on.
Relics will allow players to customise their builds more than they could before by separating the rune set stat bonuses from the additional functionality from having the full set. It should shake up the economy and make certain obscure rune sets much more valuable now.
Weaponmaster Training will allow players to utilise weapons that previously required an elite specialisation without actually slotting that one in their build, further improving the gameplay diversity.
Weaponmaster Training: each of the game’s nine professions will be able to equip the weapons previously reserved for their elite specialization, unlocking new gameplay and build options for players.
Secrets of the Obscure will cost £22 if you wish to give it a whirl.
