Grand Theft Auto 6’s file size on PlayStation 5 has been revealed by PlayStation Game Size, the reliable account known for scraping Sony’s PSN database ahead of official announcements. The game will require 210 GB of storage space at launch, with preloading opening on November 12, exactly one week before the November 19 release date. The Standard Edition is priced at $79.99, and the release time is confirmed as midnight local time.
At 210 GB, GTA 6 is one of the largest day-one game downloads in history. For context, the PS5’s usable SSD capacity sits at around 667 GB, meaning GTA 6 alone will occupy nearly a third of it straight out of the box. Players without a storage expansion will likely need to uninstall several games to make room before the preload window opens. The figure is also exactly double the file size of Red Dead Redemption 2, Rockstar Games’s previous release.
The number aligns with what notorious GTA 6 leaker Cyberleek claimed in mid-October, when they stated they had access to a “full 200+ GB playable build” of the game. No Xbox Series X|S file size has been confirmed yet, though it is expected to be comparable. Rockstar has not officially commented. GTA 6 launches November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
