Bungie is going to make Light Machine Guns quite scary in Destiny 2: Lightfall.

Destiny 2 has always had weapons that are dominating the meta and those that are less powerful. Lately, Light Machine Guns (LMG) found themselves struggling to find a place where they would be viable but Lightfall will change that.

Bungie folks are going to buff them in PvP where they usually see the most use, making them even more reliable at wiping out enemy squads.

The first change, which encompasses all LMG archetypes, is that they will have more reserve ammo, depending on their hidden Inventory stat.

As for archetype-specific changes, High-Impact Frame LMGs will now have 0.5 second time to kill (TTK), down from 0.67.

Rapid-Fire Frame LMGs will have the fastest TTK, at 0.47s while Adaptive Frames will remain unchanged at 0.53 seconds.

The buffs are fractions of a second but they will be felt in PvP where these exact fractions often mean the difference between life and death. Normally, it could mean whether you will win a duel or not but almost everyone attempts to find cover the moment they see an LMG's glare.

As such, reacting in time will be harder with the lowered TTK, which should generally mean more kills for people who catch those purple bricks with the heavy lead spitters in tow.
