Ubisoft almost shadow-dropped the next racing game in their repertoire but we did get the next best thing.
Ubisoft announced The Crew: Motorfest in a fairly sudden manner while providing a little bit of info about what we can expect.
The game is planned for launch at some point during 2023 but a portion of the players will not need to wait too long as the Insider Program will let them play as soon as February 1, 2023.
If you are wondering what it is, the Insider Program is basically a series of four closed beta tests and you can apply to join on the official website . The first phase has only 2,000 spots so you may want to hurry up with the registration.
Meanwhile, the details about the actual game are somewhat scarce but it looks like there won't be any vehicles warping into planes or boats on the fly this time around.
The teaser shows some off-road sections and it's implied that the race features both asphalt and muddy terrain so having cars optimised for any of these will provide advantages at different parts of the track.
Speaking of the tracks, the arcade nature of the series is getting some preservation and you can expect things to get pretty wild out there. Almost as if you were riding a two-seat rollercoaster.
Ubisoft also confirmed it will be a live service so expect the "always online" requirement which is the bane of portable gaming.
