Fortnite’s highly anticipated crossover with Overwatch has been officially confirmed by Epic Games. While players will have to wait a few days for the crossover to launch in-game, new details about Overwatch joining Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2 have been revealed.
Players will be able to access Overwatch skins and cosmetics starting May 14 when the game’s next season launches. The teaser video revealed by Epic Games didn’t offer a ton of information on what players can expect, but it did show the silhouette of one Overwatch character.
D.Va is believed to be the playable skin shown in Fortnite’s new teaser. This isn’t much of a surprise as D.Va has been reported as part of the crossover several times over the past few months.
However, fans are hoping that more Overwatch heroes will be playable in Fortnite after the game’s launch later this week. Fortnite’s crossover with Overwatch is one of the biggest collaborations the game has released. Fortnite is no stranger to massive crossovers, including many of gaming’s biggest franchises and IP’s.
Overwatch also continues to be one of Blizzard’s biggest games, even after its huge relaunch earlier this year. Multiple leaks have pointed toward other Overwatch heroes joining Fortnite alongside D.Va.
We know for certain that Tracer is likely on the way to Fortnite as she has been spotted several times through past leaks. With Overwatch officially arriving in Fortnite on May 14, it’s no surprise that we have also learned that Act 3 is launching on the same day.
In addition to new content from Fortnite’s newest season, players will also be able to access Star Wars cosmetics as part of the update.
