Remedy have confirmed that Alan Wake 2 is shaping up to be a great game and is now in the final stages of production ahead of the release later this year.
In their latest earnings report, Remedy have talked about their upcoming projects including the highly anticipated sequel of the 2010 psychological horror Alan Wake . According to Remedy CEO Tero Virtala, Alan Wake 2 is currently in the final stages of production and everyone at Remedy is excited about it.
Virtala says that the Alan Wake 2 team is currently fully staffed and will soon start scaling down as the development nears completion and the game gets closer to launch.
Here's a short tidbit about Alan Wake 2 from Remedy CEO Virtala: "Alan Wake 2 is on its way to becoming a great game and has everyone excited at Remedy. We have started the last major phase of full production to get the game ready for launch later this year"
Remedy didn't mention any other details regarding Alan Wake 2. The game is still on track to launch in 2023 but we'll have to wait a bit longer for a more specific release date.
Perhaps, one of the big gaming showcases this summer brings us a first in-game trailer along with the official launch date. Our bet is Summer Game Fest, given that the first reveal happened at Keighley's other show - The Game Awards.
Alan Wake 2 is confirmed to be a direct sequel to the original. At the moment, the details about the story and gameplay are scarce but we know the game will be a survival horror with familiar psychological horror elements.
Additionally, Remedy promise a true next-gen game so expect photorealistic visuals and sounds for a true horror experience.
Alan Wake 2 is officially launching sometime later this year for PC , PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S .
