Microsoft could soon reveal a new, redesigned, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S dashboard, according to trusted insider Jez Corden. Apparently, the new design is not a full overhaul but it does address certain things that the community have been asking for many years.
One of these things is to have less clutter on the screen to be able to see the wallpaper. The current Xbox dashboard works well and does the job but it hides the wallpaper behind all those blocks, but some Xbox users are not keen on such a design.
We've seen many fan-made redesigns over the last couple of years, and most of them aimed to solve this issue by making the block smaller or removing ads from the screen.
At the moment, there is no official confirmation that the redesign is coming but according to Corden, we should hear more about it in a few weeks' time.
The new dashboard design would probably first be available to Xbox Insiders for testing before the official global launch, similar to how the most recent Xbox UI update (in the screenshot below) released.
Since we're yet to see the new design, we can't really say whether or not Microsoft did a good job but it's always good to see that the company is listening to their community.
Now, it would be great if the next improvement in line is related to the Xbox DVR, to make video capture and sharing a much easier task.
