Where to find the first healing pot upgrade
When you first meet the blacksmith, make several trades to get rid of unwanted items and clear some space in your inventory. After the conclusion of the trade with the blacksmith, proceed along the path until you reach an open area with numerous undead roaming around. Deal with them any way you see fit before proceeding to the location of the Dragon Vein crystal.
After dealing with the enemies, return to the point where you initially entered this area and proceed straight to the house just across the area entrance. Within the home, you'll discover another undead soldier that can catch you off guard and attack you if you're not careful. Deal with him, and you'll locate the Dragon Vein crystal in the centre of the room. Check out the image below if you're not sure which house to look for.

Enter the inventory menu after obtaining the Dragon Vein crystal; it should be at the top. Now, click the crystal icon, and then select Use. This action converts the crystal into a healing pot, adding a fourth healing pot to your inventory.
After this initial healing pot upgrade, the rest of the crystals will be randomized throughout the game, and you will gain some by defeating enemies or finding them inside the chests.
