Most Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty bosses will require you to be patient, time your attacks, and defend yourself during the fight. The fight with Zhang Bao is quite different, as your movement speed is critical. Here's how to easily defeat him.
Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty , the latest action RPG from Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja , is a challenging game with a sophisticated combat system that combines conventional attacks with spiritual attacks and extensive use of magic.
To defeat the majority of the bosses, and occasionally even the ordinary foes, you must use your whole arsenal. Some enemies may require patience, while others will demand that you move as quickly as possible to defeat them.
Zhang Bao, General of Earth, will be one such boss, where quick movement is essential. If this boss is making your life impossible, our guide on how to simply beat him is here to assist you.
How to defeat Zhang Bao, General of Earth
You will have to grind your character's abilities and moral points through the level prior to this boss battle, much like in the other boss fights. Fortunately, there are a lot of enemies to kill and morale points to gain before facing the level's last challenge, Zhang Bao, General of Earth. One major flag will be placed immediately before the arena, and there will be just one ordinary enemy that you can easily kill between the flag and the boss.
Zhang Bao's main strength is his constant use of fire attacks, which you can't block or deflect; you can only jump over them or dodge them in some cases. Zhang Bao will launch three fire rings towards you as soon as the fight begins. Jump over the rings and dash towards him, delivering as many blows as you can. He cannot perform the magic while you are hitting him, so don't give him the opportunity to ring his little bell and summon the fire upon you.
When he feels threatened, he will teleport away from you and use elemental attacks on you. He can perform a variety of fire attacks, so learn each of them as well as how to avoid them if possible. You won't be able to avoid all of his attacks, and he'll hit you now and then, but you'll have four healing pots, which will be more than enough to win this battle.
Also, make sure to bring two of your companions with you; even though they are not much help in the fight, they can be a great distraction and give you some breathing space.
When you take away half of his health, he will summon three matriarchs that will boost his morale. Quickly sprint and kill each of them to turn the odds in your favour. Now just repeat the same strategy from the first half of the fight, and he will be dealt with in no time.
Don't forget to use Quilin's earthquake ability, but be careful not to waste it when he is teleporting because if you do, the cooldown for this ability is pretty long.
