Sons of the Forest is a bit dubious on how to use the C4 bricks you find around the island but here is a quick guide to set you straight.
C4 explosives are quite interesting in video games and the moment you loot a brick in Sons of the Forest , you will likely want to use it.
Unfortunately, Endnight Games didn't explain very well who to utilise them from the get-go so we hope this guide will clear up the confusion.
The key is that you can't actually detonate the brick alone - you have to craft a different type of explosive by using C4 as a component.
In this case, the time bomb is the explosive you are looking for. It can be crafted from your inventory UI by combining:
- C4
- Circuitry board
- Five coins
- Duct tape
- Wire
- Watch
Ironically, C4 is the easiest component to find and the rest is scattered around the island, mostly as random loot.
Endnight Games
Upon crafting the time bomb, you will find yourself in possession of a highly-potent weapon but it is tricky to use. It takes about five seconds for the bomb to go off so you will have to predict where the enemies will be in order to blow them up.
Should you nail it and detonate the explosives with enemies around, you will find it quickly vaporises anyone unlucky to be in the blast radius so this weapon is the definition of high-risk, high-reward. Just don't stand anywhere near it.
