Nowadays, almost every game has achievements/trophies tied to its progress. However, those achievements are connected to a specific platform you play the game on; if you play the game on the PlayStation, you'll earn trophies, whereas all other platforms (Xbox, Steam, and Epic Games) give you the achievements, but the concept remains similar.
Being a very original game as it is, Where Winds Meet goes an extra mile and adds its own achievements, apart from those tied to the respected platforms, where it rewards players for doing things in specific ways or completing some challenges the game sets in front of you.
Once you meet the requirements of an achievement, the game will inform you about it and give you a chance to claim a reward, but if you miss the prompt or want to check the achievement conditions, let's just say, you won't find them easily due to the abundance of options inside the game's interface.
If you're having this exact problem or want to simply know where to locate and check on the entire list of the achievements, we have a guide for you.
How to claim achievement rewards
There are two ways to claim the achievement rewards in Where Winds Meet:
- Following a pop-up prompt
- Claiming rewards manually
Following a pop-up prompt
Once you achieve the achievement requirements, you'll notice a pop-up prompt in the middle of your screen, and it will remain there for a couple of seconds. All you need to do is hold the options button (PlayStation controller), and it will automatically transfer you to the achievements menu, where you'll be able to claim all the rewards.
On the left side of the screen are the achievement groups, and on the right side, you'll see the achievements with their respective conditions. If you see a red dot on one of those achievement lists, just click on it and press the square button (PlayStation controller) to claim all available rewards from that specific section.
Repeat the same drill with all available red dotted sections, and you'll easily claim all rewards.
Claiming rewards manually
If you missed the prompt and/or want to check on all other achievements at any time, you'll need to locate the achievements menu, which is not an easy task (it actually is a very easy task, but finding this menu is a real pain in the neck).
To locate the achievements menu, press the options button (PlayStation controller) to open the side panel and then navigate to your avatar picture - it is located all the way up this pop-up menu (see the image below for reference).
Click on the avatar picture and you'll be inside your profile menu. Here, you can change the avatar image, add badges, and even change your in-game name if you want, but most importantly, you can check out the achievements menu here as well.
Press the R1 button twice, and it will take you to the achievements menu. Now, go all the way down and click on the small arrow icon that says 'All Achievements', and voila, you're inside the achievements panel. Here, you can see all the achievements and check out the conditions for unlocking them.
How many achievements are there in Where Winds Meet?
If you're a dedicated player and want to meet all the challenges the game sets in front of you, in the form of achievements, you'll have to unlock 388 achievements in total. Many of those will be unlocked naturally because they are as simple as, for example, killing an enemy with a headshot, and the like.
Some, however, will be grindy as hell, but at least you'll always have some challenge to chase, and you'll never get bored playing Where Winds Meet; that's for sure.
The achievement rewards
Most of the achievements will reward you with the Echo Jade currency. This currency is used for buying different materials and other stuff from Weiyang merchants or for drawing Solemn Echo, used for unlocking Resonating Melodies, the items that can be used for obtaining limited edition appearances.
Some achievements will reward you with custom hero titles or even the screen decorations you can use for customising your personal profile inside the game. Apart from those, you'll even get some cosmetic items like gear pieces, accessories, and more. All in all, unlocking achievements (the in-game ones, of course) is a rewarding activity and something you should consider doing as an extra activity in Where Winds Meet.
DON'T MISS!
