The world of Where Winds Meet, the latest action RPG from NetEase, is full of many quests featuring many puzzles. Sometimes those puzzles are simple, but sometimes they can be quite challenging to solve.
One such puzzle (a bit challenging one) awaits you during the side quest called Cries in a Distance, where you'll be prompted to solve a yin-yang puzzle to open the Tai Chi disc in the middle of the room. If this puzzle is giving you a headache, we have a solution for you.
How to start the Cries in a Distance quest
This quest is located inside the first game's region, Qinghe, in the area called Moonveil Mountain. There, you'll find a landmark called Bell of Demoncalm, and that's where the quest is located (see the screenshot below).
Reaching this place will take some climbing, so if you have the Lightness skill unlocked, it will definitely come in handy; otherwise, you'll have to do a long climb on the mountain. Once you're up, you can explore the bell tower if you like, but to reach the quest beginning spot, you'll have to jump down to the platform below the entrance. The best way is to engage the Wind Sense and see from where the cries are coming.
You'll have to follow the path inside the cave, burn the bramble with the fire arrow, and step on the plate to free a trapped NPC. This will trigger the puzzle that needs to be solved to progress through the quest.
How to solve the puzzle
The initial hint you'll get from Big Fang is that, like in any other yin-yang situation, you must strike a perfect balance between two opposite sides.
You'll have four contraptions surrounding the disc, and one place where you can step and rotate the entire disc. Ignore all those hints and follow a really simple one. Notice a mist flowing out from those four contraptions; all you have to do is turn the dials in a way that the mist is flowing beneath the disc.
Just turn the dials in any order you like, and once you set them to channel the mist beneath the disc, the disc will lower down, opening a path for you to progress through the quest.
Wrapping up the quest
Once you jump down, read everything inside the room, and soon you and Big Fang will open a huge stone door. Follow the newly opened path, and inside the next room, you'll be forced to fight an albino bear boss. This boss fight is really simple; just keep throwing the boss using the Tai Chi Mystic Art to the stone pillars. Once you throw him three times, he will be defeated.
Do not bother hitting him with regular attacks; he cannot be harmed that way. After you beat the bear, loot the three chests located beneath the pillars you just destroyed. Inside, you'll see some upgrade material, currency, and gear piece rewards.
